After spending couple of days, before you vacate the condo - you spend 3 hours cleaning the condo, putting all the towels in the dryer (even if not required) and giving back the keys.
You are back in your home and one week passes. What next ???. Well you get a call from the "Rental office" that the cleaning lady has the below observations.
1) Lamp is Broken
2) The condo is dirty.
We will be charging you for the above and cutting it from your Security deposit of $300.
Wouldn't your blood boil ?.
Now on the top of it - when you try to explain your point, the rental office chiming back - if you would have taken the damage waiver insurance (which we had denied) - it would have helped you......
Well - all the above happened with me and my family. I had booked a condo - Concept Sierra Condos at Lake Tahoe during the Labor day long weekend of September 2010.
I had declined to take the damage waiver insurance as we were confident that we would be taking care of the condo during our vacation.
However I ended up paying the cost for broken lamp replacement. And the condo being dirty - ah..well the rental office took back that statement - when I vehemently argued - that how it can be- when we had put in 3 hours of labor for cleaning up....
To all - Lake Tahoe visitors booking at "Accommodation station rentals" - pls take the damage waiver insurance or else - you will fall into this trap of getting duped...
